Fireplace hearth tile - need tile contractor

Wow, what a difference! I'm still dithering about my front-hall hearth. There is slate tile in the powder room on the same floor and that might be the solution. I'm looking for somebody to install it.

This is what I did for our new fireplace in our family room. I wanted to match the proportions of the Roman brick in our parlor fireplace, but couldn't find anything suitable. I had my tile guy cut 12x12 slate and copied the layout of the original fireplace. This is a gas insert but I made the mantle and all the other details as close to the original as I could.

Recommendations for folks who can do this wonderful work?

I used a tiler named Michael Anthony. I'll have to dig out his card. For some reason he's not saved in my contacts. He did a really neat job. He cut each tile exact proportions for me. (They started off as 12x12 pieces of slate.) he also laid 4 colors of slate in my mud room in a running bond pattern. Laid out all the tiles first so I could move various colors around. (Random only works so well.)

That looks awesome!  Who did the work?  What is the floor piece -- is it one piece of stone?

The folks at The Tile Shop on rte 10 are very helpful. The great thing about re-doing the hearth is that is a small place and you can splurge on really special tile if you'd like. We replaced the hearth tile in our previous house and it was the easiest and cheapest thing we ever did. We loved it and wondered why we didn't do it sooner. The Tile Shop has specials all the time on small bundles which would be plenty for your needs.

We worked with Stone and Tile Design on Millburn Ave. The hearth is one large stone section.
