Anyhow, with the latest info it looks like HP should be good. If not, I'll be at the Gate.
By the way, anybody want to buy a Honda? and rent a house?

What year is the Honda, Rhonda?

Jonesy, we Aussies wish you well for your move and success in all you do...but you do realise you don't have to leave MOL, don't you???? It's be a much sadder community without your input.

Here's where to see about our lovely house...

It's a 2006 Pilot, with about 100,000 miles on the clock. Mrs J says she's looking for around $7000. Beyond that I know little - I know less than nuttin about cars, and don't drive.

If you want to know more, phone Liz on 862 754 0645.

OK the house link stopped working - here's a new one.

So, what time tonight do we say our final good-byes?

from about 7pm. Looks like it'll be the Gate.

Oh, and the link stopped working again. Here it is on Zillow.

Wishing you and yours the very best in CA!

So here I am in Pleasanton. I just bought an avacado ice cream with himalayan pink salt sprinkle from the home-made organic ice cream place. Reason enough to move here on its own.
On another topic, I would NOT recommend "Global Relocations" for your move. No sign of my stuff yet, vague promises of a delivery next week.

Yikes!
Focus on the ice cream! Ice cream is a known cure-all for all manner of ills. cheese

Biggest difference I've noticed so far (apart from the fact that EVERYTHING I OWN ISN"T HERE YET is that there are more swimming pool supply shops than there are nail salons.

Lemon curd ie cream.Mmmmmmm.
things now likely to arrive Fiday, a new definition of "middle of the week".
Concentrating on ice cream. about the ice cream.

So, Wednesday is the new weekend. That's OK, nobody likes Wednesday anyway.... ;-)

Wherever you go, there you are.

Stuff will follow.

Wednesday just won't go
Thursday goes too slow
I've got Friday on my mind.

Thank you, Easybeats (and Australia)

Prettiest thing this week: hummingbirds around next door's lemon tree.
Oddest thing - seeing the following flavour of soda for sale -
"Chocolate -covered maple syrup-cured bacon flavor soda*. It takes longer to say than it does to throw away.

Shudder.
Americans make the weirdest things. ;-)

Incidentally, in answer to the age-old question:
There are four trains a day from the local ACE station to San Jose.

Throw away?

Throw up, more like it!

I saw my first Californian squirrel today. I felt like waving and shouting "Hi! I'm from Maplewood, too!"

more. more.

Jumping in with both feet now - auditioning for "Masterchef" at the weekend.

Wow! Good luck! Any ideas what you'll make?
(And thank you for reading my mind: was just wondering you're doing)

Anything but Chocolate-covered maple syrup-cured bacon flavor soda would have to be a winner!

Thinking hard... You don't get to cook at the audition, you have to take it with you - so it's gotta survive the journey into SF, and it's gotta taste good cold (they say they "don't take temperature into account" but I think something that's supposed to be cold will be better)

Your version of Laura's Lush Salad??

Seriously, having thought some more: what about marksierra's beer bread and maybe something cold to go with it, buffet style, in a Defcon sauce?? A picnic, man-style & classy. (slurp)

Here's a random unpacking moment...

ME: Have they REALLY shipped a magazine file inside the Thai barbecue, and then shipped a plate inside THAT?
DAUGHTER: No Dad, that's a frisbee.
ME: O good. For a moment there I thought it was a bit disorganized.
