GOP2020: What Becomes Of The Collaborators Post-Trump?

I obviously don’t know what will come out of these many investigations, but I have become focused on accepting the possibility that Trump May finish his presidency and live out the remainder of his life without any real consequences.  I do believe however that his kids and grandkids will suffer considerably.   Eventually one or more of these investigations will produce convictions.   The Trump name and brand will be pariah.  Imagine any of these people without the money provided by their conman daddy.
Trump brand used to represent success, luxurious stuff, real estate. That completely changed already, right now it represents controversy, right-wing stuff, and also a bit of power (after all, he is in the White House). Once he gets out of the WH, his brand is done. How many people that live in trailer parks will be able to afford condo's in Trump tower? I think his Presidency will end up costing him a lot of money when all is set and done.

The less that was known about the Trumps the better off it was for them.  Now the name is associated with two-bit thugs, wanna-be-mobsters, card sharks, shyster lawyers, wise guys, porn stars, Playboy Bunny girlfriends, Russian mobsters, off-shore cash havens, undocumented workers, fake I.D. honchos, blackmailers, over-inflated rental/real estate fees, back-channel Kremlin hook-ups, utilizing child cancer charities as handy cash pots, wife beaters, gambling addicts, dirty tricksters, creative bookkeeping, wind-bagging, grifting government cash with exorbitant rental and other fees, running Air Force One as a weekly shuttle to Mar-A-Lago fundraising galas and junkets to foreign Trump properties.

Like most  Presidents he had a shot at greatness.  Most Presidents surround themselves with able advisors and use their wisdom for the benefit of the country.  He chose a never ending crew of mediocres  Perhaps he did not want to be out shined by them.   Even they have sensed their ship of State sinking and left for firmer ground.

"The strongest steel is that which is forged in the hottest fire"  We have been tested and this great Nation certainly has not been been found wanting

"Time wounds all heels"   We will be fine

Our Brains Aren’t Designed to Handle the Trump Era

"I am trying to think about when, exactly, I realized that my brain was wretchedly ill suited to the modern world. Was it when Twitter began? With the internet itself?

Certainly by this current presidency. I know that much.

I think, for instance, of Fridays, often slow days in the news business, when journalists catch up on email and sneak out for haircuts and therapist appointments. Hard to do these days.

Three Fridays ago, Roger Stone was hauled off by guys in blue windbreakers by sunrise and Donald Trump decided by 3 to reopen the government, ending the longest shutdown in history; two Fridays ago, the president suspended one of the last remaining arms control treaties, potentially reigniting the nuclear race."

I was wondering the one ther day:   If given the choice would Trump prefer:

a. To be broke but to have everyone believe he is exceedingly rich.

b.  To be exceedingly rich but believed to be poor.

I think the answer is obvious for every single person on the planet except Trump.

no he didn't. It's not in his constitution to be great. He is a grifter and a leech. Always has been, always will be.

Really! I did not fathom how author could have even imagined such a thing.

me neither. it's weird. Some people look at Trump and immediately see the truth of the man. Some don't.

After the election, I thought there was a chance that Trump could achieve some great things. Especially if he focused on modernizing the country's infrastructure.

Although I thought Trump naive about the responsibilities of the position, and generally an a**h***, I couldn't fathom someone being the total ignoramus narcissist that he has shown himself to be.

Wow! A Tax Cut AND A Refund Cut. Woo Hoo!

Millions of Americans filling out their 2018 taxes will probably be surprised to learn that their refunds will be less than expected or that they owe money to the Internal Revenue Service after years of receiving refunds.

People have already taken to social media, using the hashtag #GOPTaxScam, to vent their anger. Many blame President Trump and the Republicans for shrinking refunds. Some on Twitter even said they wouldn’t vote for Trump againafter seeing their refunds slashed.

The uproar follows the passage of a major overhaul to the tax code in December 2017, which was enacted with only Republican votes and is considered the biggest legislative achievement of Trump’s first year. While the vast majority of Americans received a tax cut in 2018, refunds are a different matter. Some refunds have decreased because of changes in the law, such as a new limit on property and local income tax deductions, and some have decreased because of how the IRS has altered withholding in paychecks.

I never saw this coming.  Who knew our tax system was so complex?

Alternatively, I would argue that we should accept that it costs more than ever to be rich and we all need to do our part to help the rich.

I guess he's even worse than some thought but I thought people in the NY Metro area were knowledgeable about his history of bad conduct in business and personal life and:

His "birther" racist nonsense

His Central Park defendants racist garbage.

and then

He began his campaign with a racist diatribe.

He mocked John McCain (Frankly I thought that that was the end of him)

He said he was in favor of torture

He called for banning people from this country based on their Religion

He mocked the parents of a dead American soldier

He had his followers chant "lock her up" about his opponent - something one would only expect in an authoritarian country.

Perhaps the saving grace of the Trump regime will be that people will pay more attention, but I have my doubts.

Seriously, I've disliked him ever since this:

He is and always has been nekulturny. If you don't know the meaning of that word, don't worry: his handlers understand.

and of course we now know that spokesman "John Baron" was really Trump himself.

Saying sayonara to the AMT has been one of the happiest experiences of my life.  Right up there, anyway.

good for you.  I guess.  Personally, I don't rank a tax cut among my top 100 most happy moments.  Or even top 1000.  To each his own.

One man’s tax cut is another’s cessation of sanctioned theft.

So, Robert's preferred economic system excludes all forms of socialism / safety nets / etc. This conforms to your enjoyment of other people's suffering. So, it's not surprising.

so why are you happy? The government is still sanctioned to "steal" your money.

Don’t drop that second balloon!

I guess this is not your problem:

"Who steals my purse steals trash; ’tis something, nothing; ’twas mine, ’tis his, and has been slave to thousands; But he that filches from me my good name Robs me of that which not enriches him, And makes me poor indeed.”

I think it's theft any time you pull your car onto a public highway, walk on a sidewalk, or dial 911.

Funny how you want free stuff.

With my massive tax savings am thinking of taking creative writing classes at SHU.

Love the people who come here and write about how they hated the AMT.  It's like the people who complain that the Maserati is always in the shop.

if you love paying an extra 10-20 grand a year to the US Treasury, by all means, do.

When did they get rid of the AMT? Because last year is the first time I’ve owed the feds money since I arrived 20 years ago.
