This was a picture I snapped of Laura about a year and a half ago. I love this picture so much because Laura was in her element. She was cookin' up a storm, BPS was packed, she knew EVERYONE and just wanted to chatty cathy. It was really amazing. Laura was one of those people who really brought the best out of others. Such a big big heart and a smile that you can't forget. I will miss her so very much. I have so many great memories with Laura. Today's a very very sad day and big loss for our community.
What a great friend she was and a true mensch. She gave and gave to her community. Her love, creativity, unbridled enthusiasm and beautiful smile will be sorely missed. Sad beyond belief.
Funeral arrangements, once finalized can be posted here. For those who are not on FB, the Village Green is reporting updates as well. http://villagegreennj.com/community/beloved-south-orange-business-woman-laura-nichols-passes/
Horribly sad news. Wife and I ate there and loved the place and vibe. She was very cool with our baby boy who was on a "I need to touch everything" phase. Not religious but hope she's in a peacful place.
I believe in the love of Laura and she is needed in God's greater plan. This was not her choice to leave. May we all feel her gifts of love as needed, especially her family and Dan. She is greatly missed.
A GoFund me page was set up to help defray the costs of Laura's funeral. Here is the link to that thread I started:

I hope this thread here can stay intact for the beautiful memories being said here.
I am stunned. I met Laura only briefly once at the BPS, which my family adored. I was really struck by her post the other day about her Brother in Law. It made me very emotional, and I just can't believe now she is gone. My thoughts are with her family and friends who clearly loved her so very much.
Such beautiful sentiments being shared here. She was a special part of this community for so many people. She touched so many lives and gave so much of herself. To say she will be missed is an incredible understatement.
The last time we spoke this past week or two, we were talking and I called her Squeaky. She knew what I was talking about and broke out jabbering about the SOPAC event we both were at. Mavis was on stage and Laura was yelling out to her. Soon Mavis was talking to Laura but was calling her Squeaky. So, every since when I had to address Laura by name I called out to Squeaky.
We got such a laugh out of that. And now it is a very sober thought.
I've known Laura for about fifteen years. The last thing she texted me just a few days ago was a smile face. I'm really going to miss her and miss knowing that she is in the world. I'm so sorry for her family and her many many friends. This just does not seem possible. Goodbye old friend. We had a lot of laughs.
Wow. I didn't know her in real life but she seemed to be one of those people who would just do absolutely anything and everything in her power to help someone else. Which we need a lot more of in the world. I am so sorry for her friends and family.
The outpouring of love for her is beautiful.... I hope she knew how much people loved her.
