What you don’t realize is that they’re not really “antiwar”.
The purpose of the war from the Russian side is to defend their country which is under attack. Instead of reassuring a nuclear power that we will leave them alone to mind their own business, we are up in their face and threatening them.
I don't understand how a functioning adult can make that statement. Russia invaded a country that had previously surrendered its nuclear weapons, on the promise that its borders would be respected by Russia.

Russia feels threatened by NATO expansion. They have said that over and over. You know who controls the narrative about this in the West--NATO. And what does NATO tell you--Oh, Putin is just lying--he just wants to take over the world. With this lie they can absolve the West of any involvement. They can just say Putin woke up on the wrong side of bed and invaded Ukraine.
Meanwhile there was the US backed coup in 2014 and US weapons used against the people of the Donbass. News not carried much in the mainstream Western media.

Russia has a history of invading and occuping many countries in Europe. Putin is still pissed that Gorbachev broke up the Soviet Union. He wants to reclaim land in Eastern Europe.

Paul speaks highly of Viktor Orban's sensible views on Ukraine specifically. Since the liberal Democrats have been brainwashed into neocons willing to sacrifice the whole planet for Ukraine, we need to go further afield for sanity. Blaming Ukraine for the end of that agreement is a smokescreen for his aggressive tactics in the Donbas.
The Europeans (Germany and France) and Ukraine who were tasked with making sure it was implemented treated Minsk as a joke. They never even tried to enforce it.
