The Rose Garden and White House happenings: Listening to voters’ concerns

So, what about the Kamala question? No comment?

or

The rise of HRC from the ashes?

Oh God, you're serious. Okay, here goes.

Hillary's not running, and if she were picked for VP, she's only 5 years younger than Biden. However...

Kamala's fine. She'll be VP in 2024. She's doing what VP's are supposed to do and if Biden dies, she'll step into his shoes and the world will keep spinning. 17% of US Presidents have died in office, and the country still stands, so it's really nothing that should keep you up at night.

are we all too polite to cite the reason right wingers are aghast at the thought of President Harris?

why do you and the NR even care about what Hillary Clinton says these days?

It would be like me obsessing over whatever nonsense Newt Gingrich might be saying.

I find it hard to believe that folks can blast Tim Scott for being "evasive, dishonest, unprepared or confused", "Incomprehensible...Incoherent...Dumb...Ignorant...", and more, but at the same time, Kamala the gourmet word-salad spinner is "fine".

Here, I fixed that link for you.

The National (Socialist) Review: We have always hated HRC because she is a woman and that plays well with our women hating readers

That said, I am surprised to see you citing that white supremacist dumpster fire after you acknowledged that it is, essentially, a crock of ####.

I appreciate the irony of a story about "insulting your intelligence" being published in the NR...

Remember mtierney, give a hoot, don't pollute.

For starters, we don't let right-wing distortions form our opinions for us.

Peter Wehner in The Atlantic, Four Forces Bind Trump’s Supporters More Tightly Than Ever

If most Republicans finally do break with Trump—and at this point, very little evidence suggests they will—it won’t be because of any road-to-Damascus revelation. It will be done respectfully, even reverentially, not because they have rejected his style of politics, but because they sense that his time has come and gone.

And an as on-the-nose illustration of this as you could hope to find:

So you don't have a favorite line.  Did he say anything factual?  You won't even look at the transcript?  Perhaps tell us your favorite speech from him in the past year - or at least one where you think he didn't lie.

I'm looking for your favorite quote from the night.  What did he say that truly connected with you that may want you to possibly vote for him.

I posted the transcript here. I quoted segments here. As i have already said, Trump is his own worst enemy, he was potentially a good candidate who was destroyed by concerted efforts to rid the Oval Office of the non-politician by professional, entrenched politicians who saw his popularity as a threat to their cushy lifetime gigs. Trump serves now only as  a lightning rod reminder for Americans living outside NYC and the beltway, and, of course, California. His time came and went

If Hillary were on the ticket in 2024, the odds are she might yet be America’s first female president!

But what about Nikki Haley?

Yes I guess it's not possible to question Harris based on her job performance, ie presentation, speaking, accomplishments, etc.

Anyone who disapproves of Harris is either a racist and/or far-right wackadoo, or both. EZ peasy. There can be no other explanation.

Since half of your word-salad example is mine, Ill be happy to point out that I have NEVER stated Kamala Harris is "fine".

For all her verbal fumbling, at the very least we know where she stands when it comes to abortion rights.

I responded to your specific complaint (about "Kamala the gourmet word-salad spinner").

Your description of my response has nothing to do with what I actually wrote.

The job of the VP is to preside over the Senate. How bad at that has she been, in your opinion?

So, what is your problem with the VP?

She wasn’t my first choice in 2020 but, unlike Biden, she wasn’t my last choice.

That is technically her job specs but of course there's more to it than pounding a gavel. She pounds a gavel fine.

Overall I find her a lightweight, underwhelming, and a liability. There's a reason why she bombed as a presidential candidate in 2019 -- many on the left will say that was just racism and/or misogyny but I think it was because she was a crappy candidate. She isn't totally horrible, I'd more describe her as meh at best. Similar to Dan Quayle -- not bad enough to drop from the ticket as that would do more harm than good, but pretty suspect overall.

So you're not judging her on her job performance at all, but on her personality. As I'm the one who said it, I stand by my statement - as a VP, she's fine, and if she has to take over the country won't end and the world will keep spinning. The chance that she would be re-elected is up in the air, but at this point slim.

Please provide evidence that NR supports white supremacy?

Is it possible that NR fits your POV/bias against persons who are to the right of you?

Let me know.  Thanks.

As evidence I present the articles mt has posted on this thread.

Case closed. Please stop asking stupid questions. Your willful ignorance is boring.

Er, no. More like seeing her many times and concluding she has limited command of the issues and is not very insightful and thus I have limited confidence in her ability to lead.

Hardly closed.  If you are going to make allegations then provide evidence.  Please provide words, phrases and sentences that support your allegation.  I am very sure NR has no explicit declarations supporting white supremacy.  Please show us your analysis.  Or, as my third grade teacher would say "show your work."

PS Citing "stupid questions" will not dissuade me from asking for evidence.  My theory is that you will not substantively respond because you can not respond (reason not yet determined).

Ok. Keep asking stupid questions but I won’t be responding to them.

Well, I'd love to hear specifically why you're such a Kamala fan. I'm sure you have 3 reasons, (1) she's a Democrat, (2) she's a woman, (3) she's a person of color. Let me know if you have anything else.

You're doing a great job inventing what others think, so I'll let you keep going.

So, no. Okay fair enough.
