Sure, why not? Let's discuss what makes something funny

Nothing better to do than investigate its own investigation? It sounds humorous but it depends on context.  The DOJ started with just a part time AG. Gotta keep all those beurocrats busy. Or is just plain old government ineptitude

You know what else “sounds humorous?”

Your momma’s arm.

Yes, and it is supposed to rain tomorrow, but I was referring specifically to where you said:

“it is absurd”

because it is.and not just because I say so in order to disagree with someone.

Too obvious to be absurd.

let's revisit this topic with another Trumpy moment.  There was some disagreement on the Twitter over whether this was funny or whether it was POTUS and FLOTUS being ******** to a kid.  Personally, I don't see how it's funny when adults act like dicks to little kids.  But YMMV.

 Melania:

If halloween [ Then ]
    [ Run C:/'CandyInBag' ]
[ ElseIf trump [ Then ]
    [ Run A:/'CandyOnHead'] ]
[ Else
    [ Run A:/'KeepCandy' ] ]
End If
She's still running on Windows 98.

explains it.  It didn't look a human reaction.

and I've spent a lot of effort calling stuff not funny.  Here's a guy that I do think is funny.

Trump referred to his wife as "imma". That's Hebrew for mother but I've seen is spelled "emma"

Why dose trump call his wife "mother" and why does he do it in Hebrew?

I didn’t think the trump candy thing was funny. But it wasn’t objectively not funny either.

You see, it’s ... uh ... hmm.

I did not find him very funny.

He did mention a truly funny person, Woody Allen

Source on that one? I've only seen "Imma" as a shortening of "I'm going to."

To me this is funny. It may be a matter of taste or generation or ethnicity.

but you can probably see why people would find him funny. As opposed to Trump messing with a kid who's just expecting some candy.

I won’t defend trump — as Tony soprano said about Ralph Cifaretto, if he were drowning I’d throw him an anchor — but, I’m sure the kid will be okay.

of course he'll be ok.  And there are plenty of adults who think it's funny to tease kids.  There's a whole genre of YouTube videos of parents teasing their kids to the point of tears because they think it's funny.  I used to wonder what kind of people think that's fun, and now I know.  People like the Donald and Melania.  No surprise the Trump boys are such ********.

and fwiw, this skit made me LOL (literally).  First, I'm a sucker for animal hijinks, so there's that.  The other part that I love is that Sam Rockwell is all in on playing this character.

yeah, there's nothing like the image of a guy drowning to bring on the yuks.

Until I started bringing up this topic I wasn't aware how many people think mean-spirited stuff is funny.  I guess it explains all those red hats laughing it up at Trump rallies.

A fictional character, Ralph Cifaretto*, was such a bad guy that sociopaths, like Tony Soprano, hated him.  In one episode Ralph turns violent when his then girlfriend, Tracee, slaps and spits at him. Ralph then becomes very enraged and he proceeds to hit and stomp Tracee to death.  In my mind, the character, Ralph Cifaretto, was deserving of poetic justice (more than say Tony).

Hence why the joke works (one bad guy, Tony, rejecting aid for another bad guy because he is so much worse than Tony).  Your binary morality is juvenile.

PS   Ralph Cifaretto was a fictional character on television show who was especially unlikeable.  No one was actually harmed in making the series or the joke.

PPS DB, hypersensitivity is often a bad sign.  You may want to get that checked out.

Definition of poetic justice
: an outcome in which vice is punished and virtue rewarded usually in a manner peculiarly or ironically appropriate

*-  Cifaretto is characterized as cunning and an excellent earner, but also unstable and prone to sudden outbursts of violence, often for no reason and at the worst possible moments. See https://sopranos.fandom.com/wiki/Ralph_Cifaretto

Poetic justice often involves terrible things happening.  But the terrible things are largely happening to individuals who are thought to be irredeemable and responsible for their own predicament.

Most people cheer when confronted with the following instances of poetic justice:

a.) terrorist is maimed, or killed, by his own bomb before he’s able to injure others with it.  See link to Hamas terrorist blowing himself up:  https://jewishjournal.com/online/238546/hamas-terrorist-accidentally-blows/

b.) a moralizing, guilt-inducing preacher getting caught for cheating on his wife with a prostitute (think Jimmy Swaggert).  See:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDajCd1oR7o;

c.) anti-black racist who discovers through DNA testing that he is partially of African descent.  See link (to Craig Cobb of ND who was attempting to create white only enclave):  https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2493491/White-supremacist-Craig-Cobbs-DNA-test-reveals-hes-14-African.html

The Soprano comment is still not a funny line.  It wasn't meant to be, even within the context of the episode.  And even your examples here aren't inherently funny, unless someone can make a good joke out of it.

To my knowledge nothing you've ever posted here gives any hint of a sense of humor, and this post keeps your streak intact.
