I repeat: Unsubstantiated rumor, on a FB page, prompted by the poster's supposedly "overhearing a couple of construction workers at lunch"... It's not like I'd heard it from LL or some other credible MOLer...
Anyhow, my money's on the return of my favorite offering, MY WAY:

Oh, I hope that rumor is wrong. I love to go there after skating at the rink. I used to get some chicken wrap thing, but they stopped making it. I like the french fries.
I thought getting it your way was a Burger King thing--but I guess they need to compete.
Any date when this place will be open--McDonalds or not.

Yup, it's a deal. And yes, there are techie doodads like ordering kiosks, and yes, they bring your meal to you. I sat at the window, in an immoveable chair, which was fine once I stopped trying to pull it out to sit down...
And yes, you can get a Mcdouble "my way", and if you close your eyes, it tastes just like a Big Mac.

That's what I was hoping for. Behind the Egg McMuffin, the Big Mac is the greatest fast food invention.
Actually, until I learned about the new spin on a McDouble, I'd always thought that the Double Cheeseburger was the best sammich they made, even though I always had to request ketchup AND mustard around here. In other areas, they both are standard...

In case you haven't been watching local news, the Chit Chat is being lauded by all (including Governor Murphy & W.O. Mayor Parisi) for the generosity & hospitality displayed by the staff during our recent snow event...

I finally made it to the Chit Chat - food and service were excellent. Price point is a little on the high end. It has a Alice in Wonderland vibe which definitely makes it unique and separates it from the crowd.
Because of this thread, I've started patronizing the Chit Chat in Hackensack, as another place to take my Mom who lives near there. Thanks!
Went today for the first time. i thought the decor was fabulous. The food just as fabulous. Definitely will be returning there very often.
I must have missed this when it was active - are people going from SOMA to Hackensack for a diner? (Must really be good.)
There is a West Orange location (I think that's the location pictured above). I love Chit Chat-- I think its exactly the restaurant people wish for when restaurants are discussed here. Its that perfect middle zone price-point and the food is delicious. Lots of salads... and there's a bar, too- you can order a drink. I wish they would open a location in the old Above spot.
I don't know why, but my family and I didn't like the food. Went to the WO location and loved the decor and the staff, etc., but just didn't enjoy the food. My kids had breakfast and my husband and I had salads. Nothing I can pinpoint, maybe it's just not for us.

I went the weekend before this past one. Four of us all had salads and they all were very good. OTOH, the time before, I went for dinner and had a salad. I didn't love it and the same thing. Nothing was wrong, just not what I wanted.
eta: I will go back. Love the view, even if it is of soda's home. ;-)
