Trevor Noah to take over the Daily Show

Did you read this?? OMG

Almost bumped a Jewish kid crossing the road. He didn't look b4 crossing but I still would hav felt so bad in my german car!

Could I get the explanation how this is anti-Semitic? I understand that it is not funny and not done in great taste but I don't see the antisemitism.

Is merely mentioning a Jewish kid cause for this charge?
The kid was not insulted for being Jewish or any other reason.
No stereotype was perpetuated.

It really was a comment (bad joke) reflecting on the atrocities committed by the Nazis. In reality it links all Germans to the Nazis so shouldn't peace-loving inclusive Germans be offended?

I really don't know what to think of this guy but what I do see is an attempt by the right to try to discredit any future daily show hosts because they know that the daily show has a history of exposing their lies and they don't want that to continue.

It was an extremely unfunny joke and in extremely bad taste (IMHO)> My husband, as well as you, feel differently. I don't like his misogynist tweets as well.

Well, I think this just about sums it up.

Maybe you should read my post again before commenting on it and before editing out the parts that don't support your dialogue. But below I would like to include what you edited out and then you can explain how that meshes with your comment on how I feel differently in relationship to your comment above.

I understand that it is not funny and not done in great taste but I don't see the antisemitism.

Not funny - unfunny - - Oh my god it's like black and white!

Not done in great taste - extremely bad taste - - Wow! It's like daylight turned to night!

Now, if you don't have an answer to my question and you just want to butcher my quote while actually agreeing with me, maybe your response was unnecessary.

As I said my husband (and others) agree with you. I don't That is all. Reasonable people (should be) allow to disagree.

But you did agree with me and then stated that you didn't. Unless of course you thought that it was funny and in good taste and I just misunderstood you.

There is that. There is also, at some point, a limit to this:

"Why did the man throw butter out of the window? He wanted to give all the ______s moving into his neighborhood the slip. ... It's a joke!"

[Edited.]

Just because it's a joke doesn't make it OK. But I also am having trouble finding it to be anti-semitic, and I'm Jewish. I think we are getting to the point where some Jews don't want non-Jews to mention Jews at all in jokes. Is that a good thing? Not to my thinking.
